The Flash Technique Course Adapted for Human Trafficking Survivors

This course introduces the Flash Technique, an evidence-based therapeutic intervention developed by Dr. Philip Manfield in 2017 to reduce distress associated with traumatic memories. Learn a variation of the Flash Technique adapted for survivors of human trafficking

Explore how the Flash Technique may be incorporated into the skill-building and stabilization phase of services with survivors of human trafficking. By engaging working memory without requiring clients to verbally recount traumatic experiences in detail, the technique can support memory processing while minimizing distress.

Used as an adjunct to trauma-informed treatment, the Flash Technique may help make trauma therapy more tolerable and efficient. It can also support clients in safely approaching memories they may not yet feel ready to process through traditional methods.

This training reflects KTP Empowerment’s survivor-led, clinically grounded approach—equipping professionals with practical tools that promote dignity, choice, safety, and healing.
