About Katie Green (Papke)
Katie Green is a licensed clinical social worker, certified advanced alcohol and drug counselor, and a certified human trafficking victim service professional. She is a consultant, national trainer, and anti-trafficking subject matter expert with extensive experience in human trafficking response, trauma-informed care, homelessness, intimate partner violence, mental health, substance use, and systems-level program development.
Katie has served in national and local leadership roles, including leading multidisciplinary efforts to prevent and educate about human trafficking and different forms of exploitation. Her work has included developing national training materials, policy guidance, standard operating procedures, publications, electronic toolkits, and survivor-centered resources for professionals serving individuals impacted by trafficking, exploitation, violence, trauma, and housing instability.
Through KTP Empowerment, Katie brings together clinical experience, lived-experience-informed insight, federal program leadership, and practical implementation expertise. She helps organizations move beyond awareness by building safer, clearer, and more effective responses for the people and communities they serve.
Her work is grounded in dignity, choice, trauma-informed practice, and the belief that professionals need practical tools — not just good intentions — to recognize exploitation, respond safely, and reduce harm.
“Always look beyond your first
impression... your client could also be
experiencing human trafficking.”
